Profile Krystal Tomlin

Krystal Tomlin recently graduated with a M.P.H. from the University of Florida with a concentration in social and behavioral sciences. Through her field of study, Krystal developed a greater understanding of the impact that psychological, behavioral, social, and cultural factors have on health and health behavior. She is motivated by opportunities to engineer effective methods of bridging knowledge gaps through public health, and her ambition is to evaluate programs that educate and empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy decisions in their lives.

Krystal’s research interests include international health, minority health disparities, adolescent health and risky behaviors, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and vulnerable populations (specifically children). Prior to being a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Evaluation Fellow, Krystal worked as a research assistant for the Medicaid Reform Evaluation team at the University of Florida, Department of Health Services Research, Management and Policy.
