About Girls Quest

Girls Quest was founded in 1936 as the Girls’ Vacation Fund mission is to nurture girls from low-income families in New York to help them achieve their full potential and become active members of their communities by building academic and social competence. This is done through four interconnected programs the Summer Experiential Education and Development Program (SEED), a 2-week intensive summer residential learning program that serves as the entry point for all of Girls Quest’s programs and services; the Mentor Program, a year-long community-based program that brings together professional women and girls from the SEED program to participate in educational and enrichment activities in NYC; the Teen Leadership Program, a year-round, 3-year training, development, and enrichment program for qualified high school girls to serve as peer leaders for SEED; and, our Advancing Year Round Engagement Program to engage SEED girls during the school year through expanded monthly enrichment activities. Girls Quest serves over 350 girls age 8-18 each year.
